Meet Emma.

Altum is the start of my career! I’ve got lots of university education under my belt though – I started with a language course in Mandarin Chinese, went on to study a BA in European Politics, switched to English law and finished off with an MSc in Law, Business and Management. I liked the variety in my studies, and I’m pleased to find as much variety in my role at Altum. What makes being at Altum better however, is having a team of supportive and dependable people accompanying you.

I don’t have much professional experience to compare it to, but I’d say that Altum places great emphasis on open communication. There’s an incredible culture of collaboration nurtured through asking questions, undertaking lots of complementary training and even team sports.

I love being part of a team and adding value to any given project. In an open office, where a project can pop up at any given time, I find it really exciting to be on call and ready to assist. I should also mention that I love my standing desk and I have a love-hate relationship with the endless supply of coffee and Percy Pigs…

Its cliché, but my parents inspire me! My dad is a tax lawyer turned-senior counsel who runs marathons and renovates houses in his spare time; my mum is a lawyer-turned midwife, ex-competitive swimmer and currently studying for her 7th degree/diploma. They drive me to do more and do better.

This question always stumps me, because five years ago I didn’t have a plan and I never would have guessed everything I would do and where I would end up. I’m loving Altum and Jersey and I’m looking forward to seeing where that takes me!
