Role summary.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trainee HR Administrator to join our dynamic HR team within the financial services sector in Cape Town. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to build their career in Human Resources, offering hands-on experience across a broad range of HR functions. You will receive structured training, mentorship, and support to develop your skills and grow within the organization.
Key responsibilities.
Recruitment Support:
- Assist with drafting job descriptions and posting vacancies.
- Schedule interviews and liaise with candidates.
- Support onboarding processes for new hires.
HR Administration:
- Maintain and update employee records and HR databases.
- Prepare HR documentation such as contracts, letters, and reports.
- Assist in managing employee benefits, leave records, and compliance documentation.
Policy & Compliance:
- Help implement and communicate HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.
Employee Engagement & Development:
- Support the coordination of training and development programs.
- Assist in organizing employee engagement initiatives and events.
General Support:
- Respond to employee queries regarding HR policies and procedures.
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives as needed.
- You may be required to undertake other tasks, projects, or responsibilities as reasonably assigned, in line with organizational needs and evolving business requirements.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating in a similar role, preferably in a Financial or Professional services environment.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
