Senior Investment Manager, ManCo – Luxembourg

Role summary
We are looking for an experienced Investment Management Professional in our Luxembourg office to support our clients in managing illiquid investment vehicles and alternative funds. This role involves active participation in investment decision-making, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and managing fund operations, including NAV monitoring, financial reporting, and portfolio valuation. Additionally, the role requires engagement with stakeholders such as clients, service providers, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless investment processes. Strategic project management and operational improvements are key aspects, driving efficiency in fund administration and investment oversight within the financial services sector.
Key responsibilities
- For the first 6 months following the starting date of this work agreement, focus to provide accurate, efficient and timely support to our client with regards to the investment management of their illiquid investment vehicles – it will be key to deliver prompt and quality support to our client;
Active attendance of the investment committees and preparation of investment management committee packs; - Comprehensive involvement in the investment management decision process;
- Provision of all operational tasks linked to the investment management function of the Company, with a focus on the investment vehicles following an illiquid investment strategy;
- Support on Project Management in relation to the investment management function
- Management of the relationships with all stakeholders
- Ongoing supervision on delegated duties of the illiquid investment vehicles under management (in particular controls on investment decision, NAV monitoring, fund audit, monitoring of KPI’s, ongoing supervision of the investment advisor or investment manager, of the depositary bank and central administrator for these illiquid investment vehicles);
- Investment compliance monitoring (on a pre- and post- trade basis) for all investment vehicles under management;
- Ensure that all identified issues have been reported, corrected and preventive solutions have been implemented;
- Liaise and coordinate with clients and service providers;
- Liaise with the Conducting Officers and contribute to regular comprehensive management information reports;
- Support the alternative investment funds legal advisers in the review of legal documents when required;
- Review and implementation of service level agreements with the alternative investment funds and central administrators / depositary banks;
- Control budget and fees and support billing for the illiquid investment vehicles;
- Support to the statutory audits for the illiquid investment vehicles;
- Develop and maintain relationships with the stakeholders of the illiquid investment, SPVs, holdings and GP entities.
- Process capital activity for the funds in the accounting systems, including commitments, subscriptions, capital calls, distributions, drawdowns, redemptions, rebalances and transfers.
- Respond to client-specific requests/inquiries and proactively anticipate client needs;
- Liaise with internal parties and external delegates to ensure all processes related to the administration and investment management of the alternative investment funds managed by the Company run smoothly;
- Reviewing NAV calculation and validating financial reporting performed by service providers as well as monitor portfolio transactions for the investment vehicles under management;
- Ensure the timely production of operational and regulatory reports for various internal and external stakeholders;
- Contribute to projects to improve operational flows and costs management;
- First level review of the fund accounting operations executed by the external Fund Administrators (including among others: waterfall setup and calculation, performance fee/carried interest calculation, NAV calculation);
- Ensure timely and accurate calculation and billing of fees;
- Review of all capital call/distribution/transfer operations to investors executed by an external Transfer Agent;
- Monitor and control of all Funds cash flows (first level payment instructions management);
- Ensure that portfolio valuation (through external appraisers and the AIFM Valuation Committee) is well handled and executed;
- Organisation and/or Support and liaison with the AIFM’s different Committees: Investment Management, Risk Management and Valuation (preparation of the investment committees and writing of the minutes, AML/KYC on investments (initial and ongoing monitoring);
- Support to the valuation and risk management teams to ensure fair valuation of all alternative investment investments and adequate risk management of the PERE funds;
Alternative Investment Funds related Project Management
- Support for all alternative investment related projects to ensure these are timely and appropriately managed;
- Support in proposing, selecting and appointing new service providers for any new project (Due diligence on service providers (preparation, handling and reporting) and KPIs on delegated functions monitoring).
- Point of contact for the Clients / Initiators / Investment Managers and regular contact / meeting with clients to ensure satisfaction, (in cooperation with the client relationship management team);
- Link with service providers (central administration, depository banks, lawyers, auditors, etc.).
Expected skills / experience
- Master’s in Finance, Economics or equivalent;
- Solid understanding of Luxembourg alternative funds structures (Hedge funds, PERE vehicles,…), holding companies, SPVs, agreements and investment strategies, in terms of accounting, investment management, risk & valuation functions;
- At least 7-10 years of relevant experience gained in the investment management of illiquid investment vehicles
- Excellent computer literacy, word processing and spreadsheet skills are essential;
- Excellent written and spoken English – other languages, particularly Italian would be an advantage.
