Role summary:
The role holder will report directly to the Head of Legal in our Jersey office. This is a position suitable for candidates from a directly related position with knowledge and/or experience of operating in a heavily regulated environment, preferably in Luxembourg.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitor legislative, regulatory and corporate governance developments that might affect Altum Group’s operations and ensure that the Head of Legal and the relevant boards are fully briefed on these.
- Prepare and maintain board and committee agendas, minutes and resolutions.
- Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements and board policies and procedures.
- Oversee or arrange the filing of statutory and regulatory returns and documents, including financial statements.
- Liaise with various departments to collect necessary reports and information for board and committee meetings.
- Draft relevant papers and ensure packs are assembled and distributed to internal boards and committees in a timely manner.
- Attend and minute meetings.
- Keep records up to date and ensure all statutory registers are duly maintained.
- Assist with the signing of contracts and other documentation and maintain a ratification tracker.
- Deal with correspondence, the collating of relevant information and writing of reports, ensuring decisions made or action points agreed are communicated to the relevant parties and completed within timescales set and agreed.
- Provide contribution to meeting discussions.
- Assist with corresponding with external regulators and advisers, such as lawyers and auditors, as required.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Professional qualification: LLB law degree and/or ICSA, CSSA qualification. (Admitted Attorney advantageous).
- Minimum four years’ experience in the financial services industry and/or company secretarial position (preferably with a focus on Luxembourg).
- Excellent strong interpersonal and good written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
