LuxCMA is member-driven: volunteers from banking, legal, regulatory, financial markets infrastructures and corporate services fields shape its work. Members have the opportunity to join any of its 12 working groups, with decisions discussed and approved by the full membership, ensuring output reflects the whole value chain. LuxCMA is also known for casual networking, an ideal entry point for newcomers. Board member Béatrice Riguidel puts it well: «LuxCMA is a little like Luxembourg itself. Many of us come for professional reasons, but we stay for the people.»

Four new working groups have been launched: Private Credit, Equity Capital Markets, Digital and Blockchain Technologies, and the most recent, the Islamic Finance Task Force. LuxCMA now counts 60 member companies, including the Big Four, major law firms, corporate service providers, the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, and leading banks. Events happen nearly monthly, some abroad in cities like London or Frankfurt, alongside cocktails and working sessions.

The Luxembourg Capital Markets Association (LuxCMA), formed in 2019, unites value-chain participants to strengthen Luxembourg’s capital markets ecosystem. In the last 18 months, members have published 36 papers—insight papers, guidance notes, legal trackers, and market surveys—widely consulted locally and by those looking to enter the Luxembourg market.

We know that if the sector gets stronger, we all get stronger. Said Hendrik Krog, Altum Group

LuxCMA members are the heartbeat of the association, Hendrik says, because they provide the drive, expertise, and ideas that determine the association’s papers and positions. Our goal is to listen and learn from each other to build a better and more attractive capital markets sector in Luxembourg, one that will continue to thrive on the global stage. We know that if the sector gets stronger, we all get stronger. In an ever more uncertain world, it’s important that we do not stand alone. We’re a very active community that strives for stability and certainty.
