Legal Officer, AIFM – Luxembourg
Role summary
Altum is currently recruiting for a Legal Officer to join the Legal team in our Luxembourg office. The Legal Department plays a central role in supporting the activities of Altum Management Company (Luxembourg) S.A. (“AMC”), a Luxembourg Management Company and Alternative Investment Fund Manager (“AIFM”), with a particular focus on legal, regulatory, governance and fund‑related matters.
The Legal Department is involved in all stages of a fund’s lifecycle, including structuring, launch, operation and ongoing regulatory monitoring. It works closely with internal teams, external legal advisers, service providers, regulators and clients.
The Legal Officer will support the Legal Department in a broad range of legal and regulatory activities relating to Luxembourg investment funds and will contribute to fund structuring projects, the drafting and review of legal documentation, regulatory and legal monitoring activities and fund registration processes. The role also involves carrying out legal research and analyses on topics affecting the Management Company and its clients.
Role responsibilities
The Legal Officer will assist the Legal Department in the following areas:
Fund structuring:
- Support the structuring, establishment and maintenance of Luxembourg investment funds, including UCITS, and AIFs, including RAIFs, SIFs and other Luxembourg fund structures, as applicable;
- Liaise with external legal advisers, notaries and service providers in relation to fund-related matters.
- Draft, review and negotiate legal documents and contractual arrangements;
Regulatory and Legal Monitoring:
- Contribute to legal analyses relating to legal and regulatory developments impacting AMC and its funds including AIFMD, SFDR, PRIIPS, DORA;
- Assist in the implementation of regulatory developments affecting the business.
Fund Registrations and Regulatory Filings:
- Coordinate fund notifications, registrations and cross-border marketing filings;
- Coordinate the preparation, review and update of PRIIPs KIDs, UCITS KIIDs and other investor disclosure documents.
- General legal support to the various AMC departments.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Master’s degree in Law or equivalent legal qualification;
- Between one and five years of relevant professional experience gained within a law firm or a financial entity active in the investment fund industry;
- Good understanding of Luxembourg investment fund structures. Previous exposure to alternative investment funds would be a strong advantage;
- Strong written and spoken command of English. Knowledge of French, German or Italian would be a strong asset;
- Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Knowledge of CSSF eDesk and eFile would be considered an asset;
- Strong analytical and ability to synthesise complex legal and regulatory information, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines;
- Proactive and hands-on approach;
- Team player with excellent communication skills
