Role summary
The Deputy Head of Family Office supports the Head of Family Office in the leadership and performance of the division. The role has responsibility for the day-to-day management of the division, overseeing operational delivery, financial performance, client service and people leadership while also maintaining a portfolio of strategic client relationships. Working closely with the Head of Family Office, the Deputy drives operational excellence, develops future leaders, supports business development and helps raise Altum’s profile within the market. The role deputises for the Head of Family Office where required and plays a key role in delivering the division’s commercial and strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, develop and mentor Directors, Managers and wider teams across the Family Office division.
- Maintain oversight of key client relationships, acting as senior escalation point where required.
- Personally manage a portfolio of strategic or high-value client relationships.
- Support new business opportunities, fee proposals, pitches and client presentations.
- Build and maintain relationships with intermediaries, introducers and other key stakeholders.
- Represent Altum externally, helping to strengthen the firm’s reputation and market presence.
- Oversee the day-to-day operational performance of the Family Office division.
- Ownership of divisional financial performance, including revenue, profitability, WIP, recoverability etc.
- Drive continuous improvement, automation and operational efficiencies across the business
- Ensure appropriate resource planning and capacity management across teams
- Monitor KPIs and implement actions to improve client delivery and commercial performance.
- Ensure the division operates in accordance with regulatory requirements, internal policies.
- Work closely with Compliance, Risk and Legal to maintain a strong control environment
- Promote a culture of accountability, risk awareness and high professional standards.
- Build a high-performing culture through coaching, accountability and succession planning
- Deputise for the Head of Family Office across leadership and operational matters
Skills required
- Significant experience within Family Office, with a proven track record in leading complex clients.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, experience managing divisional performance, profitability, budgets and business development activities.
- Demonstrable leadership capability, with ability to coach, influence and develop others.
