Client Accountant, Corporate & Private Client – Luxembourg
Role summary
The Client Accountant will focus on some of our key clients.
Role: Client Accountant
Location: Luxembourg
Division: Corporate and Private Clients
Key responsibilities
- Maintain a strong relationship with the client and understand the client’s structures and needs;
- Conduct bookkeeping and prepare TBs for Luxembourg holding entities;
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with Lux GAAP;
- Review service provider-prepared accounts;
- Facilitate communication with auditors during the annual audit;
- Aid in implementing financial procedures, controls, and system enhancements;
- Coordinate the preparation of VAT and annual tax returns;
- Complete and submit WHT forms;
- Support FATCA and CRS reporting;
- Establish monthly payments;
- Evaluate cash balances and determine funding requirements;
- Arrange filings with eCDF, RCS and MyGuichet;
- Responsible for the administration, bookkeeping and preparation of financial statements for various Luxembourg companies;
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and year-end closings;
- Prepare interim accounts on behalf of the client as necessary;
- Prepare monthly payments and maintain expenses report;
- Liaise and interact with clients, other offices and client advisors, in order to prepare the financial statements;
- Support the audit of financial statements (where required);
- Support the preparation of VAT / CIT returns (where required);
- Support the preparation of financial reports (LUX GAAP) (where required);
- Record the working hours/client in the time billing system according to the objectives set.
Expected Skills/Experience
- University degree in Accounting/Finance, (ACCA-qualified or part qualified would be a distinct advantage);
- Good knowledge of LuxGaap (IFRS, Consolidation and/or USGaap would be an advantage);
- 3 years of experience with a professional services firm;
- Good communication and organizational skills in order to meet tight deadlines;
- Proactive with a client service orientated attitude;
- Ability for multiple tasks requested at the same time and set priorities;
- Ability to solve problems and work independently and as a member of a team.
